Ability Awareness Fair

Baldwin held an Ability Awareness Fair from October 14-16th.  Each of our students had an opportunity to experience what it would be like if you needed to learn differently because of a weakness in a specific area.
Students visited stations focused on four different disabilities:  vision, hearing, speech, and fine motor.  They participated in hands-on exercises that helped them understand what it may be like for a person who has challenges in each particular area.
The pictures to the right demonstrate students participating in each station.
Thanks to all the parent volunteers who spent time at school to assist students in their learning.  Special thanks go to Mrs. Humphrey, Kristin Chen, Ann Stanhope, and Carrie Archer for their help in organizing the event.

October 20th - The National Day of Writing

October 20th has been declared The National Day on Writing  In support of this exciting and special day, a National Gallery of Writing has been established to showcase the community of writers in our lives.  You're invited, along with the rest of the SRVUSD community, to be a part of this living history project.  If you would like to participate, submit your very best written work to the SRVUSD Gallery at http://gallaryofwriting.org/galleries/52526.   Work submitted must adhere to the posted guidelines and should reflect the individual spirit of the writer.  (Students under the age of 13 will need to have their work submitted by a parent)
