A big thank you to all of you for donating to the Cougar Education Fund. Your monies are making a huge difference in our classroom every day. Because of your donation, your child participates in science with Mrs. Pierce, art with Mrs. Canning, and music with Mrs. Knight.
But the biggest impact on your child's learning is having Mrs. Dunlap in our classroom. Without Mrs. Dunlap, we would not be able to have math or spelling groups. This means that instead of instructing your child in small groups at their instructional level, we would have whole class instruction in everything we do. (Think one size fits all.)
If you didn't make a donation at registration to the Cougar Education Fund, remember that it is not too late to do so.
Lawrence Hall of Science
On October 22nd, the class visited the Lawrence Hall of Science. There the students participated in two classes. The first was Animal Adaptations where they learned why different animals have different features to help them live in their environments. They also helped solve a murder mystery in the Who Done It? class by analyzing fibers, fingerprints and other clues. Thank you to all the parents who drove and chaperoned the children.
