SRVPTA Parenting Speaker Series - Jan. 20, 2018
The San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs' Parenting Speaker Series bring professionals and experts on various aspects of parenting in order to inform and provide learning opportunities to our parents and educators to benefit kids of all ages.
For our inaugural Speaker event, we welcome Jean Twenge, Ph.D, professor of Psychology at San Diego State University and author of iGen: Why Today's Super-Connected Kids Are Growing Up Less Rebellious, More Tolerant, Less Happy--and Completely Unprepared for Adulthood (and What That Means for the Rest of Us). She will share with us her extensive research on the generation that follows (and perhaps slightly overlaps) the Millennials. They are coined iGens and they don't remember a time before the Internet and grew up with smartphones and social media. Jean will give us insight and perspective on understanding the truth vs. myths of generational changes and the culture that produced them. Come join us for Jean's presentation and book signing!
Conference registration includes program and continental breakfast.
