Fundraising

CEF Fundraisers

These are our primary fundraising events and on-going programs:

  1. Donation Drive (Fall registration)
  2. Jog-a-Thon (Fall)
  3. Spring Fundraiser
  4. Corporate Matching (ongoing)
  5. Donations (ongoing or auto-pay)
  6. Cougar Rewards Program (ongoing)

Donation Drive: The suggested donation amount for the 2018/2019 school year is $550 per child for all grades. If we have 100% participation, we will meet our goal of raising $312,000, which allows our administration to maintain the level of curriculum and staffing expected at John Baldwin. There are several different ways to donate, including check, credit card, and a three-payment option. We gratefully accept donations at any level throughout the school year.

Remember -- all donations made to the Cougar Education Fund are tax deductible (tax exempt #68-0432593).

Jog-a-Thon: This is an elementary age-appropriate FUNdraiser that involves the students and promotes physical fitness. The students participate in the fundraising efforts by collecting sponsorships/donations from family, friends and neighbors (John Baldwin Elementary does not promote going door to door – please only contact people you know for donations!). Students then participate in the physical fitness portion by walking or jogging laps around our track for 30-40 minutes. This is a great way for the children to feel empowered by raising money for their school and learning about the importance of physical fitness.

We are looking for a chairperson(s) to take the lead for this school-wide event! Please contact Jennifer Thenemann if you are interested. If you'd like to volunteer on the day of the Jog-a-Thon event, please contact Jennifer Thenemann.

Spring Fundraiser: Our Spring Fundraiser is a community-building event that has traditionally been our Bid for Kids online auction and Live Gala Event. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to be our Spring Fundraiser Chairperson(s) to lead this year's Spring Fundraiser committee and explore new opportunities, and provide a fresh perspective to achieving our fundraising goals. This event will continue to be a vital source of funding for CEF.

We are looking for volunteers to coordinate or assist with the Spring Fundraiser! Please contact Jennifer Thenemann if you are interested.

Corporate Matching Funds: DOUBLE or even TRIPLE your contribution to John Baldwin’s Cougar Education Fund by applying to your Corporate Matching Program. Did you know that many business organizations offer a matching gift program as a part of their employee benefits package? These programs allow you to invoke your organization's philanthropy for the benefit of John Baldwin Elementary. Your employer will match your CEF donations provided it is processed within the specified time period. Thanks to the generosity of these companies we raised nearly $15,000 during the last academic year.

Cougar Rewards Program: There are several easy ways to raise money for the Cougar Education Fund through your normal everyday shopping routine! Just purchase items that you would normally buy through the programs listed below. The following programs donate a percentage of your purchases back to John Baldwin Elementary Cougar Education Fund. Please make sure to participate in these programs, as they have the ability to tremendously impact our budget.
